Red Cross Standard First Aid Class
Blended Standard First Aid: 8 hours of online learning, 7-7.5 hours class teaching time
Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.
Instructor: Mud Creek Medics Instructor for Practical Module and Red Cross First Aid Instructor for Online Theory Module
Completion Criteria: Ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate all required skills, including critical steps; 100% attendance and participation; 75% min. passing grade on a written, closed book knowledge evaluation; and adherence to the Fundamental Principles.
Certification: 3-year certification in Standard First Aid, CPR Level A or C, and AED
Standard First Aid – Recertification
Duration: Standard First Aid: 6.5–7.5 hours; includes CPR Level A or C and AED; adheres to local legislation
Pre-Requisite: Must provide a copy of a valid Permanent Standard First Aid & CPR certificate issued in the province of Alberta. Expired certifications are not accepted. Temporary certificates will not be accepted. Please contact the franchise that issued your certificate if you have lost your permanent certificate.
